Thank you for the grading statistic.
What percent are 70 vs 69
NGC seems much more popular. I thought PCGS was the go to Grading co?.

@dave
Difficult to say because mostly only dealers could let grade for First Day of Issue. As you know they can ask TGPs not to grade the 69s and resell them as raw coins again.
For modern US coins PCGS are stricter and more difficult to get a 70 grade. At NGC you have better chance for a 70. I think most collectors' coins are still in queues for grading, but if I take the numbers for Early Releases, which are more realistic for collectors' blind submissions, the database says 74x for 69grade and 65x 70grade. PCGS nearly has no 69grade. But don't weight the numbers too much.

Agreed. PCGS is also pretty backed up right now for most things so there likely are a lot left in the que, but they also are generally slower with the pop reports and tend to update them in batches.

ANOTHER price increase at APMEX on the RCM set, now it's up to $279.

What's really crazy about the pricing of these sets is that they are Not graded, so there is no proof that the coins included in the packaging even came from the RCM.

Someone who had both the USM and RCM sets could send the RCM sets in for grading, get the RCM packaging returned, and place the USM coins in the RCM packaging. Hope no one does this!

Only the graded coins, which must be submitted in sealed packaging , blindly, can receive the label designation that Proves where the sets came from.

Once the "Graded" and authenticated sets are designated from the RCM, will those REV PF ASE be considered a new Key Date ...IMHO

I have sent a message to both the USM and RCM asking them to verify if the RCM sets were actually the First Sets produced so that they could be sent to the RCM and give the RCM time to meet the "July 3 release date" which we now know that the RCM actually released their sets a week early.

That would make the RCM sets FS also.

If the price difference remains where it is, then without a doubt people will do this, even if they have to buy an aftermarket US set. You'd still get what you're paying for - the RCM OGP, after all the coins themselves are exactly the same.

Okay, okay. I admit it. After all my whining about yet another ASE, I bought a set too.

ASE have an extremely odd enchantment. I am simply forced to buy them.

Yeah, someone put a spell on me too, and now I have 3 boxes (20 coins each) of 2017-S proof ASE coins.

I was wrong!

NGC has revealed the registry points for the 2019 W REV PF Enhanced Finish. Apparently All coins, either RCM or USM all receive the same points in the same grade. So a coin is a coin is a coin.

I realize that you guys told me so...

About the same points as a 2012 S Rev. Proof
