A Texas Cent expands proportionally so the lettering is still out by the rims. On a broadstrike even though the blank may expand to a larger size the design stays the same size as on the normal coin (because it is trapped within the die face). The OP coin is a broadstrike. (and Coop is right it may be double struck as well since it has a fairly well formed rim. Report this Post to the Staff
