There appears to be doubling on the 2017D LSC on both obverse and reverse of the coin? Any thoughts?

There's doubling, but not the right type of doubling you want. Just Machine Doubling, not a Doubled Die, sorry.

The best way to tell is if the doubling is flat, shelf like, reduces the devices and is reflective, then it is Machine Doubling.

If the devices are enlarged, showing full contour on both sides of the devices, that is what you would expect for a doubled die.
Normal compared with the DDO:

Shield cents can be difficult to spot legit doubled die as they are still shiny and very reflective. The best way I try to find doubled die shield cent is to compare it to another same cent.
This coin exhibits Machine Doubling as everyone said and possibly Die Deterioration!

Cheers
