I don't know much about nickels but this one was pretty darn easy to spot.

Thanks! And yes E & V I found it myself. The local coin shop knocks all the Jeffersons out of albums when they get them and tosses them in a bag. Whenever the bag is full (about 1500 coins) I buy it from them. My only hope really is to one day find a Henning nickel, but since I'm looking at them anyway I check for a couple strong things I know about mostly on the 1938 and 1939 dates. I don't find much as I don't know what I'm doing but every once in a while something strong jumps out at me.

Something I made a long time ago about the difference I noticed on these two reverses:

I read that this can/does have the reverse of 1940 but don't know how to verify that so left it out of the description.

Coop, thanks for that. From your graphic I can verify this is reverse of 1940.

I was looking on PCGS and they only mentioned the 'REV of 40' for that coin. None with the 'reverse of 38'.

Nice find TB! I have trouble finding those '39 DDOs and DDRs.

Nice. I've been looking for that in BU. Not an easy find. I did snag a high grade 38 recently!

It's surprising that so many '39s are still circulating. This just goes to show, spending a little

time critiquing them pays off. Nice eye!
