Nikon Coolpix 5400 Lens Help

Hello!

I have a Nikon CoolPix 5400 that I really like, but I would like to take pics farther away from the coin so that I can light the coin better. I'm guessing I need some sort of telephoto lens for it.

Any ideas or recommendations? What sort of adapter would I need?

I am looking to do this somewhat economically, and as I get more serious, I could probably upgrade to a better lens later.

You cannot upgrade the lens on that camera, you can only upgrade lenses on SLR cameras. You should still be able to take nice photos with that camera though, I have a Coolpix 4600 which is a lesser camera than yours but with a copy stand and two high quality white lights(5000K compact fluorescent 26W), I can take decent photos.

I take pretty decent pics with my camera as-is, but I know I could take better pics if I could move the camera farther away so that I could better light the coin.
