1962 Jefferson Nickel, Clipped Planchette Or PMD?

When you see a clipped planchet, always look at the area opposite for the Blakesley Effect or Blakesley Bounce. You may see an area on the rim that looks flat or distorted. It's caused when the coin moves slightly or "bounces" when it's struck. This can be a useful diagnostic for clipped coins. I have seen lots of clips, but only one or two that DIDN'T have a strange area on the rim, 180 degrees from the clip. I see what looks like the Blakesley Effect on your coin, but I'm not positive. You should be able to tell by looking at the coin under magnification. ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!
