Quote: One thing I did notice is that Whitman albums are updated more often than Dansco. Do you know if they offer free updated pages or do you have to buy them or if they are even available to buy if you already have the Whitman album? I can imagine the quarters get updated ever few years with all the different programs the mint spits out. Also, how does Dansco offer any updated pages, or do they? I know they would be far and few in between.

Reached out to Whitman and if they have extras in stock they will send it to you for a nominal cost. She didn't have any of the new ones for the 20th century quarters so I can't say what the nominal cost is.

Thanks for checking on that. I guess their wouldn't be too many updates depending on how many quarter programs we have

@hfjacinto, I'm considering the Whitman Classic album for First Spouse Bronze Medals, as it's the only such album for the series. Given your recent experiences with Whitman and your revised rankings, would you recommend for or against it?

@college, the Whitman series I purchased 4 years ago had issues. The latest set seems better built. I think that they will work good.

Quote:Any thoughts on the new Whitman Prestige Coin Albums? https://whitman.com/coin-albums-fol...coin-albums/ Dark maroon or black pages?! I think I need to see one in hand sometime before making a judgement. Although at a price of 70.00, I like the encap pages with coin capsules better since they are better at protecting coins and less expensive than this. But those new items do look sharp.

The prestige set looks really nice but I'll hold judgement until I can actually get one. I wouldn't mind moving my Mercury dimes to one. Only issue I see is the current price is very high.

Whitman store on ebay has a 20% off coupon that puts them at $55.96 and they do come with a slip case. I do not own one and I haven't heard of anyone with one, but I did consider them at one point. Only time will tell about their durability. I did notice that none of their albums have spaces for proofs. Only way to accommodate them would be to get a blank page but then you'd have to label them yourself somehow. Just wanted to point that out. I would be interested in hearing from someone that has one.

I have been moving my best sets into caps albums. They are big & bulky but for the money They offer the best protection (no slide bite) in airtites. They also offer more described spaces for varieties.
