That was the greeting I got today at the bank from my favorite teller. She gets all the foreign coins and unusual things and holds them for me so I wondered what it might be she had found. She says"It looks like it was dipped in something because it is shinier than other quarters and when you drop it it sounds funny". So, I said, let me take a look at it, and low and behold, it was a 1963 quarter. I explained to her that it was silver and that is why it looked and sounded different. She said if I wanted it I could have it for a quarter so you KNOW what my answer was! See pics below:

Nice silver quarter. I had the same thing with a 64 silver half. She said its yours for 50 cent. I said oke doke

Having a good relationship with the tellers definitely has it's rewards. I scored a '47 dime recently at my credit union. They know me as the coin guy, one of the tellers saved it for me to see if I would be interested.
