So I was out of town for most of the week and had not continued looking through this box. I still have not opened more than 3 rolls, and decided to go back through the ones I only quickly glanced at.

First question is, are these die cracks? If so, this is the second coin within 3 rolls with cracks.
At least I will assume the first coin I posted with a crack was indeed so. I never got a confirmation on that one. It was on the reverse and from rim to rim.

Second question: If you look at picture #4, around the edges on the obverse, what causes this scratched like surface?

What I have noticed with these coins, aside from the ugly spots on every single one, first came a few coins with the 'rim ring', next came several coins with this scratched like surface-but only in one place. This started around the end of the last t in trust and progressed around the entire obverse, then to reverse. After this was several coins with grease strike through, starting on the 9 and progressing around most of the obverse, then on to the reverse. And last are the coins with the die cracks, only 2 thus far.

I know I have posted about this box three or more times, and this is somewhat of a novel, but this sequence of patterns is interesting to me and I'de like to know more. And I am still compiling a series of photos showing this progression.

Thanks!!

Depending on if it presses down with a toothpick? But probably linear plating bubbles . If it were a die crack, then you would find exact matching examples in the rolls.
