Hi all - I purchased this little coin years ago from the UK. It was in a group lot of old/ancient coins of India but I think it is (or is trying to be) and Anglo-Saxon sceat / sceatta. It looks something like this example (CNG link below) - but not the same. The size and weight are a nice match though (about 1.0g and 11-13mm). Also it does look to be silver to me.

I see what you mean by "trying to be"; the same general theme but not the same dies. I'm sorry that it's not my area but I am interested in the period. Nice score if it's real.

Interesting looking coin. I can't say if it's genuine or not though.

Looks like an Anglo-Saxon sceat, Boar reverse.
Going on the pictures provided it looks ok to me, not my field of expertise but have seen a few of these unearthed.
