Thanks for your reply mate. $6000k is way out of my price range at the moment but maybe one day. I love the idea of it.

closest to gold I've found so far is a bullet shell and a small piece of a silver earring but I'm still in the back yard at this stage, wont be much longer and I will have the whole yard weeded from underneath lol. hopefully heading out to a dry creek bed this afternoon, and I know where there are a few mine shafts where no one has had access to the diggings as yet, but I need more practice before travelling that far.

G'Day Erkle I may be able to help you with your detecting but it depends on what detector you have, I have some setting for both the Minelab GP4500 and the GP5000 that work really well on small gold at depth, if you need these setting just let me know. Also I sent an email so when and if you need me just let me know. regards Harry

Are there any specifics that you look for in land before you go MD'ing the area. I was just up in Bodie (the ghost town) with my family and apparentally it has produced over 100m in gold. Just reading all 26 pages and I just had to share.

First I must say thank you for reading this thread and before I answer you inquiry there are a few things you need to know, whom ever found gold there must have found it on the surface first before the mines went in so there's a good chance there's still gold there,I don't know the topography of the land there so do some research on it,also it should be afurious area that's where you find gold. So the answer is yes ther should still be gold there.

there must be a car buried in my yard, so far I have had the winding mechanism from an old ford and 2 pieces of chrome trim strip about 12 inches down, I gave up before I found the motor block. but I am getting much more used to it and the settings, almost ready to head out for a full day long search soon.

My inlaws know they have a car in their yard. I wonder how deep though? I wont be finding it pieces like that though. It was supposedly buried whole!

I don't think finding a buried car would be a good thing ,what I mean is you don't know what"s hiding inside them or you don't know what little surprises they may be hiding
