What I don't get though is why the 2012-S Silver Proof set with a mintage of 395k goes for $120-155 on ebay, but the 2015-S Silver Proof set with a mintage of 387k* goes for $45-55. Each set has the same number of coins and same composition. The only difference I can think of is the 2012 set unexpectedly stopped selling while the 2015 set didn't and was minted to demand? *Not sure why but on CCF it says 349k sets were minted for 2015.

HSN's resident [sic] numistatist (that's how his co-host was pronouncing it) was selling this with the nickel graded 70 by ANACS for $180 on TV last night.
P.S. Browsing the bay and am seeing other proof sets where the nickel bag was open at one end with a perforation. I'm looking at a listing where the nickel bag is sealed, but is still perforated up top so I'm wondering if the machine that cuts the bags from its roll goofed up somewhere and cut the baggies too early before the seal mark and mine was one of them.

I watched HSN last night and he's (Mike M) selling one set with a RP70 'bonus' nickel for $280, and a different set with all coins PR70 for $520. Also, he's selling the PR70 Kennedy alone for $120. His theory is that when the San Francisco Mint re-opens they won't have the time to make any more proof sets because they have got so many other types to mint yet.

How long does it take to mint more sets? I can't imagine they would need too much time to pump these out and get to the rest of their offerings.

I order mine the day they came out, and still processing. it never took this long for the mint to ship, so they might keep these at a low limit because what we are going though with this virus and we understanding why it taking it so long for the order being shipped.Just a thought.

With all the items still due out and with San Francisco being closed they may not make anymore. They haven't even started the commemoratives and they are already past due, the innovation dollars and a few other items (like proof ASE).

Yeah that's why I ordered a few extra. Either it will really pay off or I'll end up looking like a COVIDiot

Quote: Obviously there is still the limited edition silver set... I was thinking about that and I don't think it's a given that we'll have the LESPS this year. In 2015 there was no LESPS for some reason. I forget exactly what it was but I think it had to do with redesigned packaging not being available in time. So an impact to schedule like this could derail that product, especially since it usually comes out so late in the year.

My order is still processing. Credit card still not pinged. Maybe it's taking really long due to staff or maybe I'll never get it. Such is life

FedEx Slow Post must have slowed down my order got pushed out to a Friday Delivery. I tell you the FedEx smart post has two speeds stalled and stopped. They are the worst service ever.

It's not like they haven't rolled over American Innovation Dollar proofs to the next year. Precedent has been set and they could catch up whatever they like in 2021 if they want to if the virus isn't a problem at that time.

Well, decided to call the mint and as expected Due to Covid19, thing are apt to take longer than usual, please be patient, and thank you.
So, just keep waiting, it's only been 10 days.
Apparently the hold and release of the funds from my account was just a test to see if it would go through. and nothing to be concerned about.
I still am of the belief they are pulling items from a different distribution center and consolidating it for 1 shipment from 1 location and that is the hold up.
I guess it will happen when it happens. LOL
