Hello came across a 1944 D penny looks like it's a D over S mintmark but I have been wrong so many times before. Also is the cent is d over s what is the value

Looks like a normal coin to me. There is a contact mark across the top of the mintmark. An over mint mark is behind the mintmark, not on top of the mintmark.

Agree, does not look like either of the principal varieties, but a sharper pic would clarify this.
