Hi,

I have this 1970S Small Date variety cent that has major doubling and I believe it was struck on the a dime planchet. I am new to this so any help would be much appreciated. Let me know if you need more photos

Thanks

Your cent appears to be a large date--unsure given the photos. Others with better qualifications will be along soon to weigh in. It might help to remove the coin from the plastic sleeve and take a couple more photos.

Why would you think it's struck on a dime planchet? Looks like a perfectly normal penny to me.

Sorry I thought a dime planchet because of all the random lettering. I think it is struck multiple times. You can see Lincoln's head very easily here. There is also a ton of double die on reverse

Not struck multiple times. What do you mean by "random lettering"?

@b123, sorry but I'm not seeing any evidence of multiple strikes, an off-metal planchet, doubling, or any other mint error. There is some off surface staining, but that is it I think. While of course we are happy to provide our opinions to you on any coin that you have, please consider taking some time to study mint errors over on the error-ref.com website.
