Forgive me if a topic has been already been posted on this, but I didn't see one (at least not a recent one).
What's your favorite coin you own? Whether for the sentimental value, numismatic value, or you just think it's super cool, I'm sure we all have one that comes to mind.
Mine would have to be the 1909
Lincoln Penny passed down from my grandfather. My grandfather passed when I was little, and my fondest memories of him are him teaching me how to count money and the little handfuls of change he would give me every time he visited.
One day, about a decade after he passed, my mom found his old collection in the attic and pulled it out to show me. It was the usual stuff, wheat cents, some Canadian cents, and a few
Buffalo nickels and silver dimes. I dove into the hobby, organized his coins into albums and 2x2s, and learned a ton by reading here on CCF.
But the one coin that really caught my eye (probably because it was the oldest), was a 1909
Wheat cent. This particular coin has dents and is worn fairly slick, and is by no means the most numismatically valuable coin I own. However, if I could only keep one, I would pick this one, hands down.
That's my story, now I want to hear yours!
