Hi all, I wanted to get everyone's opinions on my recent acquisition of a Weir Farm ATB Quarter. The biggest detractor I would say are the marks on the nearest corner of the farmhouse on the reverse. Edited by TheInfinityPoint 04/27/2020 09:10 am

Why is there a "V75" counterstamp on the 9:00 observe field? If that is on the coin, it won't be eligible for a numerical grade.

Any other guesses? I'll be submitting this to NGC soon so you can all see how close to the "answer" you are :D

Solid MS66. Minor nick on lower bust, 'marks' just west of L in LIBERTY. Nice coin! Of the 15+ W mint quarters I've found, most are in the MS62-64 range--an unfortunate array of dings and nicks.

Just a note: the V75 on most coins I have seen on the bay are weakly struck, yours is VERY nice. Also,I hope the mint starts minting a stronger strike of the Washington quarter soon. They look awful the last few years,IMHO. John1

Thanks! Yeah I've noticed that too in some of the other coins with the privy mark. Agreed the quarter has a weak strike.

I think it is more of a low relief design than a weak strike, makes them look low quality. Come on U.S.Mint,get with it John1

MS66 looks right to me at first glance. It is slight misaligned Obverse Die.
depends on how noticeable they are given grading lighting and grading magnification and the grader at the time. I think MS65 is possible here, and MS67 impossible for it, unless you send it to ANACS.

Yeah it's too bad it has those nicks on the barn on the reverse. The obverse is one of the most pristine I've seen. But then again I remember the first W quarter found last year and submitted to NGC was graded MS67, and the guy found it already in circulation! https://www.NGCcoin.com/news/articl...r-certified/

From where I'm sitting; compared to my ANACS 67, I'd say your Weir Farm is a candidate for 68. You're right, that obv. looks pristine! You have a good eye! Nice find! ! Please post the results here when you get it back. Very interested in seeing it.
