I have an old coin with arabic words for almost 20 years and I would like to know more about it. I attached it's pictures and I'm curious to read what do you think about it. Thanks a lot! chronos Pillar of the Community Lebanon 506 Posts	Posted 05/02/2020 12:15 pm it is an ottoman coin ,on the reverse it is written in arabic "struck in constantinople" in 1223 in islamic calendar which correspond to 1832-1833 in gregorian calendar the number 28 corresponds to the year of reign of the sultan in place. On the reverse there is what is called the tughra , it is the seal of the sultan , each sultan has his own seal ,this one probably is the sultan mahmud 2 seal you should give us the weight and diameter so we can help you find the proper denomination of the coin.
