Hello everybody! I'm Alberto and I'm writing from Italy.
I have an old coin with arabic words for almost 20 years and I would like to know more about it. I attached it's pictures and I'm curious to read what do you think about it.
it is an ottoman coin ,on the reverse it is written in arabic "struck in constantinople" in 1223 in islamic calendar which correspond to 1832-1833 in gregorian calendar the number 28 corresponds to the year of reign of the sultan in place. On the reverse there is what is called the tughra , it is the seal of the sultan , each sultan has his own seal ,this one probably is the sultan mahmud 2 seal you should give us the weight and diameter so we can help you find the proper denomination of the coin.
