I have this 1968 D that when put under light if I didn't know better turns into an S. Is that a thing? Are there S mints disguised as D's. I'm pretty sure there is some doubling as well. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

We need better photos, could you give us a closeup up the date and mintmark?

Sounds like an OMM, but those are beyond rare.

I agree a good close-up pic would help. There might be debris on top of the mintmark, but I can't tell for sure.

I don't see any doubling I'm afraid, nor do I see an S. Sorry.

A changing mint mark? D into an S?... I think someone spiked your drink..lol

BTW, your pictures are fine, close and clear. I dont see doubling or the magical mint mark. There are D over S and S over D OMM but this isn't one.

I know it sounds crazy my new scope should be here shortly and il post again but in the one picture above the top inside of the D see how it rounds off it seems to connect with the S on the inside maybewhich enlarges and the outer D fades away
