Aside from the fact that it's a one look fake?

It doesn't look right, but I'm guessing that there is something that confirms it?
Edit: seller has no feed back?

As typical, the date logo is a dead giveaway. Start with the weak, thin numeral "1". Google this date for comparison pics of the real thing.

Quote: PCGS provides this service and a few other collector resources absolutely free of charge. You don't even need an account. So does google Quote: Can you tell why it's fake? Porous and also excess bumps on surfaces, likeness details wrong compared to an original, wrong letter spacing compared to other design elements, mushy details typical of this kind of fake, lettering and date wrong, doubling on mushy denticals, excess Cuds in details like stars, non-uniformity of stars...

Color, details, rim, scream fake. Typical Chinese import.

In spite of my report, the bay allowed the coin to be sold for %660. Six bidders made 19 bids.
The 1848 silver dollar had a tiny mintage of 15,000 coins and thus only one set of business strike dies. The obverse die date had the 4 touching the first 8. This coin is missing that marker.

Someone is not going to be happy when they go to resell this coin.

I agree the coin is a counterfeit, but I did not pick up on the spacing of the date. I did notice the last 8 was tilted on the counterfeit and the stars are off as they look like stars on a Trade dollar. Thanks for posting.

All of that, and the fact that other than the minuscule scratch at 3 o'clock on the obverse, and 8 on the reverse, there isn't a blemish on it. Not typical of a coin that old, especially an upgraded one.

Hopefully the buyer will discover it in time to get a refund.
