Plus if it was you that cleaned that field and scratched the coin, you dont want to do that. If it was something valuable, it would drop the price. Copper is a relatively soft, reactive metal--so, surface hits and exposure to the environment show up nicely. Post-mint damage in my opinion. Forty-eight years in circulation--the coin has been through a lot. At least it avoided the prolonged parking lot treatment.
