hey guys, the edge is a different color and smaller size overall. date is cut off. not in the greatest shape. opinions on value?

That would be a Roosevelt dime. Looks to be a normal dime that has been exposed to acid, or a corrosive environment.

Looks like acid has reduced the size and weight of this coin.

i guess I thought different because the date, the "w" in we, as well as liberty seems to be cut off while the rim seems intact. thanks for the lesson.
