Watching this one, do you think it makes AU-55? Lots of small surface scratches.

I'd say AU-55 is correct.

I would weight the coin, the design features look a little off to me.

Seller states 26.73grams. Which seems right, but the colour seems off to me.

The color was the first issue, the mushy details in the design was my second red flag.

On the left wing do you see a strange mark that I have only seen on fake Chinese casts. It could be bag marks.

I do see it. This is one I would be very tempted to return if you have it or pass on buying it if you are looking.

The date doesn't look quite right to me. Counterfeit?

That is a raised bump over the D, and no amount of wear will raise a bump on a Morgan .......... only a bad casting rather than pressing will do that.

Unless I'm mistaken, the only 1887/6-O is 1887-O VAM 3. None of the evident marks on the reverse appear on any die state of VAM-3, and would certainly be noted if they were there.

Compare the date on VAM-3 with the date on the target coin. The 8s on the target coin appear way off, especially the second 8.

IMHO, this one is counterfeit.
