Hi. I picked up a box at another bank today. It turned up 67 wheats. Mostly from the 40's and 50's Oldest was 1917, and a few from the 30's. Not to shabby considering my average is about 8 per box. Just thought I'd share.

Unreal, I might get 3-4 wheats per box when I'm lucky.

Thanks guys. I think I'll stop at the same bank this weekend an pick up another box. If they let me. It was fun opening those rolls. Some rolls had 5 and 6 wheats each.

Hey

I'm in Canada, and in the first 5 penny rolls I've ever searched I got two wheat cents - a 42D and a 53D. I guess I was just lucky, but I'll keep looking through rolls!

Yeah, I get American coins regularly in my change (though nothing often above a nickel), but never older ones like the ones I got in the rolls.

Nice Mike! I went through a bank box over the weekend. 7 wheats total!

But I'll keep looking. Encouraging to know that somewhere a box like that exists.

I just finished a box yesterday.

Coppers: 747
Canadians: 2 (1957, 1985)
Wheats: 8 (1946, 1956D, 1957D, 1956, 1957D, 1950D, 1936, 1950)

I just started another box this morning.

What is your method for re-rolling them? And do you return them to the same bank?

It depends. I usually reroll them and take them to a different bank. But, with children who seem to be always broke, sometimes I just hand them a bag full of coins (mostly pennies). They complain, but off to coin star they go!

Thanks Guys. Why do you re-roll them? I have accounts at four different banks. I've never rolled them. I have one bank that I dump all my change at. They have a machine and I get cash. I don't think they would even take rolled coins. By the way, I went back to that bank and they were all out of cents.
