Snoopydoo Valued Member United States 443 Posts	Posted 06/29/2020 9:28 pm Finished going thru over a thousand foreign coins last weekend. Had a stack of unidentifiable ones. This one appears to be an un-stamped planchette. It is strongly magnetic, but copper in color. Please see below pictures for size and weight. Anyone have any idea what it should have been? Planchets are the next step in the manufacture of coins. Copper plated steel core. Lots of modern coinage blanks around the World are made from these metals, similar to the British One Penny and Two Pence coins, which are of copper plated steel, but have a lower weight to this example. oriole Pillar of the Community Canada 5267 Posts	Posted 06/30/2020 06:04 am You can search numista, by putting a range of weights and diameters as search parameters. You may find some plausible possibilities, but that would probably fall short of proof. Tokens or other things could be made from blanks. Report this Post to the Staff
