Tough coin! Would love to claim my Hoard of '82s had the quarter and half, but alas...

The reverse looks great! I'm really not the right person to put a grade on this serie but I'd say AU58.

I'll say impaired proof PR-58.

To me the obverse looks like it had an old cleaning.

Lightly circulated proof.

You can't beat the 1879 to 1891 half dollars for a challenging set to put together....especially the circulation strikes!

I agree that the front looks cleaned, but the reverse is beautiful. I'd give it a 58 also.

I'd guess AU55 with a light cleaning. I'm not seeing a proof but apparently others do. Here's a PR55 for comparison.

It's an impaired proof. The die marriage looks to be WB-102, with the stray "88" in denticles. IIRC, that die variety is believed to be proof only.

PR-58, with a market acceptable older cleaning.

Nice coin!

fortcollins, yes you are correct. I was going to take another picture of the part that you highlighted because my images are bad and hard to see. It is a WB-102.
