Some enjoy labels like First Strike, First Day of Issue, Early Releases. The US Mint has said they do not ship the coins in the order of them being struck such as ASE. For coins that sell out the first day they could all be First Strike, First Day of Issue, Early Release if you send them in within the time limit and pay for the label. To each their own with labeling. As I mentioned in a prior post NGC is offering a Peace label that says High Relief even though the Mint specifically said it is not. No doubt the TPG make a nice profit with these labels.

EDM, Allow me. People in the SLAB world Love their slabs, Just They believe the hype of the Emergency Strikes, The Early Strikes, The First Strikes Etc. The Collectors and the 3rd Party graders Together, Sustain Themselves, in that they Treasure the label . Do not like that one, How about This one.... We ALL know that Every Coin is supposed to be Pristine , Leaving the Mint. They All believe their labels are All That. That's just my opinion, The people here have changed as far as Collecting Coins. IMO, They collect the Slabs. There is an Ole saying in the Coin Collecting World, Collect the coin, NOT the Label............. This is NOT to say What I or Others collect is any Worse or better, They just Enjoy Slabs and Myself etal Do Not !!! Collect what Your Heart Desires !!!!

I intend to send my 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars in to PCGS for grading, but I'm not going to pay extra for a meaningless 11 letters (First Strike) on the label. All that means for most of the coins produced is that they were submitted to the TPG company before their deadline. All of these coins were produced by the mint weeks or months ago and there is no way of telling what coins were really struck first.

I actually did exactly what Dearborn is doing. I ended up putting my 4 boxes into one bigger box and FedEx'd that box yesterday. 13 coins in all, with the First Strike label on all of them. I won't do First Strike very often, and I get that it's nothing more than a self fulfilling thing maintained by collectors, but for this particular 2021 batch I wanted to show all coins as having made it directly to grading withing 30 days. I too am crossing my fingers just like Dearborn. I just purchased two really nice Safe albums that hold slabs (4 sheets of 9 for 36 coins per album) and I am going to keep these for my two young children to someday inherit. And yes I feel like a glutton for punishment what with the smoke coming from my credit card for being used so much this year! Good luck to you, Dearborn. Ought to get them back right after the holidays I bet.

Neither do I the last time I sent in ANY coins was with the v75 Privy ASE coins. I'm getting these slabbed for a possible re-sell later on. Some people do buy the slab and not the coin. I'm just the opposite. I'll buy a slabbed coin just to make sure it is genuine, then break them out for my albums. (Yes I have kept some in the slabbes but I'm not quite sure why. RECEIVED: Morgan "CC", Morgan "O" and Peace dollar. I know it sounds trivial but the packaging from that mint has gotten so cheap that my expectations for the coins dropped. However, looking through the mint capsulation, all of the coins looked great last night. Then I pulled them out to photograph this morning. I used gloves (even wore a mask in case I sneezed). Close ups of the Morgans showed some spots and a scratch on the CC and a deep gouge in the O. The Peace dollar was the only one that looked flawless. No replacements. The best I can get is a refund. Gonna keep em anyway, but this is sad.

Sorry you got some problem coins. Makes me wonder what the percentage of good/bad is with these. Likely we'll never know. Depending how bad the damage is, I assume the Mint will resell some of the returns.

Does anyone ever check that the coins being received are actually 99.9% silver as claimed.

Hi. I missed the 2021 Morgan CC from the mint. I see a seller has 2021 $1 CC Morgan dollar Privy Mark PCGS MS69 First Strike 100th Anniversary Label for $189. You think it is worth $189 to have the coin? Thanks
