I get free shipping because of my frequent buying, AND I had to sign up for the news letter to qualify for free S&H.
So I have 0.00 charged today.
But WHY would the Mint sell something THEY DON'T HAVE?!? They should get the stock on hand THEN sell. So Now I have to keep a close eye on my account for an undertermined amount of time to ensure the money is there for them when they take it, most likely without warning.

It's interesting reading everyone's experiences, so thank you all for sharing. I still haven't decided if I want to try for a Morgan, Peace or one of each, but I wasn't interested in the "O" or "CC" privies so thankfully they were "available" first.

@Dearborn
It's a pre-order...
-
I was charged full price plus shipping. (Which is good because the card I used definitely expires soon.)
But my Order History page says: Items (0) Subtotal: $0.00 Shipping & Handling: $4.95 Order Total: $4.95 Payment Method Amount: $174.95
So I don't think the Mint's Order History is accurate?

Quote: Same here. When my order went in originally it said processing, but I just checked back and now it says backorder. My guess is that they're not ready to ship so they'll stay on back order until they actually go out. Also, my order summary showed $344.95 for 4 coins, but now it only shows $4.95 for shipping and $0.00 for the coins even though my bank info shows they have deducted the entire amount. I have a similar confirmation showing on the Order Page.

Well this was like when I tried to get the V75 ASE and Medal. I was on the Mint's site at 12 EST put two of each (CC and O) in my cart and proceeded to get kick off, and timed out for the next 27 minutes. At 25 minutes I had to remove the CC from my cart because it was no longer available. I was lucky enough to get two O's. Disappointed I could not get a CC. I would have thought the Mint would have a better system in place after the V75 ASE and Medal ordering problems. My order on the Mint website shows a charge of $174.95. My credit card was charged $4.95 for shipping but nothing else. I got my order confirmation tonight. I am happy I got a coin, and disappointed I did not get a CC. Willing to trade an O privy for a CC.

I know it's easy for me to say, I was able to get my orders through, but there are hundreds of these on ebay and people paying $2-300, that only reinforces the flippers to order for the next round and keeps the price high for those wanting these. If people would hold off a couple of months they would likely pay less and the and the flippers with these would be discouraged from ordering as many in the next rounds - especially if these actually start shipping in June and they have to put out the money. Hit them where it hurts, make them put out the money, and be hung with them awhile, it will bring the prices down and may shy them from ordering as many of the next ones.

The Mint, after lying yesterday that their website was NOT having problems, is apologizing this morning. They claim they are aware that bots flooded the site and took most of the coins and that they are trying to solve "the problem". Right.
Perhaps what the Mint should do at this point is make an additional 100K of the O and CC coins and flood the market to meet the demand and stop the speculators that cheated the system, and do the same with the upcoming issues.

The Mint should cancel those BOT orders and release that inventory back for purchase. I thought they already had controls to combat this issue.

It would seem changing the HHL to 2-3 for the first week or two would be a simple fix until they figure it out. But, history shows they cannot figure it out and do not take common sense approaches. I do have to remember that this is a government agency, and one of the few agencies that generates revenue. I know they lose money on the production of pennies and nickels, but the returns on Gold and Silver are outrageous. So, not that I want to or like it, I have to accept the fact that dealers are going to get their coins, people are going to beat the system, and we are left to fend for the scraps. This takes away much of the enjoyment of coin collecting.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but an "the expected in-stock date is Sunday June 13th 2021" , isn't the same as "Product shipments will begin in October". It's two very different things being discussed.
Maybe they are in stock June 13th, doesn't mean they are going to ship them before October though. Perhaps they make them available for the Approved Bulk Purchasers to pick them up from Tennessee after June 13th though.
Maybe I am bursting a bubble. I don't see any commitment to ship anything to anyone before October though.
