After an hour and 45 minutes off all kinds of crap, it's no longer available. It's beyond me why anyone would want to put the government in charge of any aspect of their life.

I told my friend about the coins today, he has never bought coins from the mint. Of course he got the gold one right away with no issues. I think their internet in Connecticut is better than here in Pennsylvania...

Got my Silver at 12:29pm after several Catchpas and lockouts. Didn't even try for the Gold.

The Mint website seems rather calm now. Even though I got a comfirmation email, the sellout happening just after my order has me biting nails, so I went back to see my order status. And guess what happened? Survey pop-up! Ya darn toontin' I filled it out! Oh, how cathartic that was. I made good use of the text boxes. I usually leave those blank or fill in the bare minimum one or three words, but this time I maxed them out.

I have two questions for those knowledgeable about how to navigate the mint's lack of website capacity. I received the error message below. Did I do something to get it and is there anything that I can do to avoid getting it. After about an hour, it stopped appearing. While it was happening, I figured out that it wouldn't happen if I waited more than 30 seconds between clicks. Unfortunately, that only resulted in exchanging this error for the "oops, something went wrong" error. I have the ASE in my bag. Literally about five times I made it to the final click only to get the "oops, something wen wrong" error. Now when I click the button to review my bag the ASE is faded with "We're sorry, but this item is no longer available" and a Remove From Bag button over the top of the faded image. I know they'll put them back on sale again when orders are rejected for various reasons, but they'll go fast. Should I leave it in my cart and refresh on that screen or do you have to remove and add it again once it's available before you can check out?

I logged on at 11:45.
Got the gold in my cart then was blown off the website for over an hour.
Finally got back in. Got a silver in the cart but the gold in my cart was no longer available. Spent 15-20 minutes trying to delete the gold so I could checkout.
The PayPal option disappeared so I had to key in a credit card.
Finally checked out with the silver after about 82 minutes.
What an ordeal but I finally got one. :-)

I got the same message repeatedly. The only way I got it to quit was waiting at least one minute or more before hitting refresh on a timeout. It seems they were aggressive with the access counts. I was shocked when it finally went through to success and not oops.
