I am sure if any boss had a thief on his crew, he would want to know.
A great idea! It is their reputation on the line.

I ran an inventory yesterday. Turns out a few more things are missing. Annoying but no more so than the Morgans being swiped. The thief obviously had some time.

It is an expensive lesson to learn, but I have. Made an appt to get a safety dep box later this week.

I'm so sorry- that's miserable. I've lost a couple valuable coins over the years, but recently discovered a 1907 gold eagle that I'd written off as totally gone at the bottom of a box that I swear I'd searched several times. Just goes to show, don't ever completely give up hope!

I've had a similar experience only much closer to home.
My collection had been put away and pretty much ignored for years.
Except for 1 Eagle slab binder, which sat on a shelf.
When I looked at it recently the first 2 pages of my best slabbed coins were gone.
I know who did it but no idea when and to accuse would be problematic.
Anyway Live and Learn.

I never met a problem without a solution, although solutions are sometimes untenable.

Actually the discovery of the missing coins is what reignited my interest in my collection / collecting.

I did take the time to go through All of my boxes of collections, albums and miscellaneous stuff.

Now if I could only update my Danscos's....

I got ripped off for a 1916 D Mercury dime
If I ever see it for sale I am going to do some detective work. I was stolen in California.

Mailed and buyer claimed never received. It was a long time ago. Probably 10 years but I know who the buyer was.
Not worth re-living but I believe in karma and someday it will show up. It has a pretty unique appearance.
I don't want to hijack the thread, just wanted to say I feel for those who get ripped.
Dishonesty is a terrible thing, perhaps the karma is the grinding guilt that wears away a thief's soul.
