Remember you are looking at an artists rendering, NOT what the actual coin will look like. And they probably NEED "Washington crossing the Delaware" on it. Otherwise it's the "Washington directing traffic" reverse. (I still think it looks like he is saying "GO THAT WAY!".)

So, H.R. 1923 didn't die in Congress. (What a pity!). Now, it's just awaiting the President's signature?

Regarding the design of the Crossing the Delaware reverse, I was wondering how the coin would look with Washington himself removed and the boat made larger, maybe then the having the words might make sense?
Or thinking further, change the portrait on the observe to have the Washington from the reverse?
For the front has him holding the sword and the back the boat. That would make a good one year design if bill passes.

Looks like H.R.1923 - Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020 has been sent to the president. Women's History and Nineteenth Amendment Centennial Quarter Dollar Coin Program Act This bill requires the Department of the Treasury to mint and issue quarter-dollar coins in commemoration of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment granting women the right to vote. The design on the reverse of each coin shall be emblematic of the accomplishments and contributions of a prominent woman who was a resident of a state, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th...se-bill/1923

This year will be a welcome one year respite and a fine design for the Quarter Dollar. The mess comes after 2021, with up to five quarters each year through 2030 and up to five half dollars from 2026-2030, oh and yes another five dollar coins in 2026. Overboard and mostly covering unneeded themes.

Seems like a regular design has become a novelty rather than the norm. I guess the dime is the new old reliable!

The dime is kinda small...but we could put a letter of the alphabet on the reverse.
