Not sure. Almost all of the banks around here get this same type box. The cent box is a solid (no holes in top) cardboard box with red printing on it. The rolls are made of brown paper with 50C PENNIES with red dashes around each end.
Usually I do not find this many. Usually about 8 or so wheat pennies a box. Most of the rolls made up of mostly wheat cents were at the end of the box. Maybe tomorrow, I will get a similar box.
People turn old coins in to the bank all the time. Not so long ago a teller called me to inform me that she had 16 rolls of dimes. All of these rolls contained 90% dimes. You never know what will be included.
Last year while searching half dollars I found a 1938 D.

BadThad, You need to dip that coin in amonia to get it to look like the ones that I find. The nice chocolate brown color. Just joking. Nice find. The banks here were froze out today. How dare they? Will not risk personal saftey. Drove by four banks and they were all closed. Maybe tomorrow.

Ammonia....LOLOLOL
Yea, all the banks closed here today. I liked the sign on the main bank I always go to: "Due to the encumbent weather, we are closed today." What the heck does that mean!? LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Is there a 1997 double ear like the 1984? Also, I was reading previous posts about the 92 CAM, according to the 09 RedBook, there is a 92 and 92D CAM. Back to roll hunting, went through about six rolls this morning and foumd a 37,44, 46, 56 , 70S & 71S. Very unusual for roll searching in my area. (Maryland). I haven't got into the pictures yet, but I will. Love this thread, keep posting. Rip48

BadThad; You mentioned you haven't found a 2000 WAM. Maybe there are all on this side of the river, as I've found 2 2000's and 2 1998's in the past month. I lost track of how many boxes I have gone through. With the weather the way its been in the last couple weeks, what else is there to do? What part of town do you live in? I lived in Pleasant Ridge until 1990, when I moved South. Happy Hunting!

Just finished searching 765 pennies from my wife's "piggy bank"....used only a 5x pocket loope
612 common 131 copper, dated 1981 and earlier 2 wheats (1937 F and 1956 XF) 7 1982's for further investigation as to copper or zinc 2 s mint (1972 XF and a 1973 XF red) 11 MISC that I am keeping for further investigation when I get a better loope.
AND THE WINNER!! A 1989-D that appears to be a double die or some type error. I am not proficient in distinquishing the differnt types of errors and don't know if this is a rare one or common one. Unfortunately my camera does not have a macro feature and all pics are too blurry to post let alone see the detail but here is a description:
the "989" portion of 1989 appears to have another imprint of the "989" along the right hand edge of the numerals. The "D" mint mark is ok. The "LIB" of "Liberty" appears to be shifted in the oppostie direction with another "LIB" along the LEFT edge.
As soom as I can borrow a camera capable of taking good photos will post here or on error/variety thread to get some input.
