I found a 1912D that was in really rough shape. I soaked it in distilled white vinegar for a couple days. When I wiped the gunk off the coin, it was left pitted with many of the details gone. Did I use the wrong solution or is this just an indication that coin was just that far gone?

I figure this deserves it's own post. I'm continuing to go through all my saved LMC's from over a year of crhing. I figured since I would be away from home, I could just take my LMC's, books, and magnifiers with me and continue my review for error's and varieties. I decided to study the 1972 Obverse DDO's and then began going through them. Shortly in to my search I found really nice doubling on the outer devices of a coin. It's either cw or ccw (can't remember right now). It looks most like the 1972P-1DO-006 but I would classify the spread as moderately strong. Easily stronger than the photo markers I saw for 1972P-1DO-006. I'll try to get a picture taken soon so you can help identify it.

Thanks,

OO

Is that 1909 a DDO? Date from my computer looks like it could be doubled.

Hey fella's, I'm really new to the penny game so I'm not sure what to look for when you say it is a DDO. I have a 100x magnifier so if you tell me what to look for maybe I can help. jason

another box done, notables a 1943 canadian penny and a 1919s wheat penny(among 8 other wheats one being a 30's and the rest 40's and 50's and 8 newer canadians.)and about 18 rolls of copper. not very many au coppers though which was a little disappointing. also 18 2009 pennies.(do you guys keep them too or am I the only one? I just think they are neat. I do throw back ones that are in bad shape though, its kind of painful to see them.)overall a good box I think. I cant wait till monday so I can get the next one.
