Quote: I have 7 of them and just 1 of the 50c and the $1. For now, but I'm sure we can fix that. Steve :)

Okay now Australia, as Steve mentions the 20 cent coins were all state designs by school children in each state and they are beautiful. A series of 50 cent coins also came out with the state arms on each one and one 50 cent coin showing the Australian coat of arms on it. There was also a federation dollar. My attempt at arranging the coins I have in a Map of Australia feel (Did not quite work ). Some more of them! My favourite of the 4 designs, QLD is the best! And the Donald Bradman 20 cents. They released special packs for each state and territory (NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, WA, ACT, NT and even Norfolk Island) with the 20 cent and 50 cent in them with the dollar, so you had to buy the dollar 9 times! Also minted were proof sets of 3. The mintages of the 20c and state 50 cent coins were low at 2 or 3 million coins each, but they minted 81 million normal 20 cent coins and some 28 million federation dollars along with a high number of Australian coat of arms 50 cents. The non anniversary coins including a standard 20c, 5c, 10c and $2 and a Volunteer $1 coin of which 6 million were minted Heads. I am missing the South Australia and Tasmania coins as well. Here you see more of my State 20 cents, Australian arms 50c and a Federation dollar. In amongst this too, they issued a Don Bradman 20 cents and NCLT included 3 x $1 coins for the 90th anniversary of the Army, Navy and Airforce! What a year - tomorrow we hit the millienium and then its back into the 20th century!

Just as a sneak peek into the future (And past) 2001 is the centenary year of Australian Federation, however 50 years earlier instead of issuing state coins and designs, just one coin a Federation Florin came out. 1951 Australia - Federation Florin showing Southern Cross (Probably in better condition than the 2001 coins I showed )

Love those state arms NumisRob. Similar designs also came out on a series of $10 silver NCLT coins issued in the 1980s as well (I will show one in the 1980s, when we reach them).
Steve, you have 103 Bradman 20 cents - you must really like him. That's more duplication than all of my 70 x 1967 dated 1 cent coins of New Zealand!

I agree, I am not really fond of VF condition 1 cent coins. My Bradman I suspect was pulled out of circulation some time in the mid - late 2000s as the collection its from stops around 2007/08.
The 2000 year for NZ is decent, but then the numbers of coins shown drop off, 1999/98 have 2, 3 in 1997, and just 2 for 1996 and 1 a piece for 1994/95, nothing for 1992/93 and 2 for 1991 and 3 for 1990 - then it goes gangbusters. Luckily I have some NCLT in this era too and this will beef my contributions up - thank God for Australia which issued coins right through this period.

Nah its fine, send it to NumisRob.
I am much more keen on those missing state 20c coins.
Warning my 2000 coins for both countries are lacking, really waiting for the era of silver!

The millennium year, 2000. When all the planes were going to fall out of the sky. The normal 50c with flag. The incuse version. Steve :)

Nice I have heard about those. I used to have a Millenium 50 cent coin, but it was concreted into a garden feature I had years ago (Long since moved on). They also issued a silver coloured version of that coin, which is beautiful. New Zealand is only 3 coins in 2000. The 5 cent was the only coin issued continuously from the previous year here!. The 10 cent was the first coin since 1997 for circulation and first $1 coin since 1991! We were all shocked seeing them, thinking surely its 1990 when we noticed that the portrait of the Queen was the new one! No UNC sets for this year, as the set for 2000, the Pied Cormorant one is the scarcest of all time, cataloguing around $150! Coming into 2000, us Kiwis honestly thought we would be getting bitsy coinage for the next few years with just drip feeding amounts of 5 and 10 cent pieces and everything else pretty much 10 or more years old. How wrong we were as 2001 - 2004 proved!

My Australia for 2000 is even worse, I don't have a Millienium 50 cents and the Mob of Roos Dollar and $2 coin had low mintages for the year and I have neither Things are going to get worse before better, but around 1992 it will pick up greatly and you will be blown away by my completeness of coins between 1947 and 1990! What I do have is the 3 low value coins for the year and even 20 years ago, their buying power was limited. However drink in that AU/near UNC condition - only the best for you people here at CCF! We say goodbye to the 2000s and enter the 20th century and 2nd millienium AD tomorrow. Although not that far back yet, I am still an adult at this stage (23 in 1999). To have that year back - Mambo #5 and Britney did it again.
