What causes this? Grease on the Die? At his eye and between the E and nose, down to his chin, neck, top of head at the AM.

@minn, those look like patches of surface roughness. On an uncirculated coin we could probably conclude that the coin was struck through gritty grease, but with a coin that has seen some circulation, I'm not sure that we can differentiate between this and some random circulation damage.

I agree with the gritty grease, except that I think it is oil not grease that causes that look.

It came out of a BU roll from the bank. I did not realize they gave me a roll of 2020 D Salt River Bay when I opened it. I have another from same roll almost looks identical.
