Just another question. These would seem to be rather prominent reverse die markers. Can anyone match any of these to a VAM?

It's a far date, but I can't match the mint mark position with any of the 3 known reverse dies for an 89-CC far date. If it's a counterfeit, it's a pretty good one, and having it in a fake slab would prevent one from getting an accurate weight. Is there a PCGS TrueView photo with the cert number?

The two stars on the reverse are giving me pause to say not real, they don't match up at all with any known VAM the coin has some of the characteristics of a VAM7, but that's not good either, as it was delisted as a modern counterfeit. I'm going not genuine at this point.

I'll break forum and reveal early. It is in a 50 slab. It has heritage provenance associated with the slab. I don't have a picture of the slab right now but it is serial number 13386675

Heritage sale was in 2007 and it appears the coin must have toned a little in the holder since then...if that is possible. Definitely far date and I was thinking it could be VAM 3 or 6 but toning was making it difficult to find other markers. Coin has flow lines and just has a genuine look to it. It was purchased from a local reputable dealer I have dealt with many times before so I gave authenticity in a PCGS slab no time of day!

Definitely a conservative grade. If you payed AU50 money, that's a great purchase IMO.

So it would appear to be a counterfeit coin in a counterfeit slab. The bar code does not match.

Yes, the Heritage coin is a VAM-5, definitely not the same coin. It has a die crack through ONE on the reverse that's not on the counterfeit coin, and the marks on the cheek and neck don't match up.

I'm with Dave700x on this one. Way too many indicators, but in the wrong direction.

The following is the Bar Code read out for the 89CC above:0028266316359049. The barcode does not match the grade and serial number. The holder and coin are both a counterfeit.
Here is the Bar Code read out for the heritage coin: 0071905013386675
