Hi,

I have a number of Austrian coins and would like to practice picture taking, hopefully they are good enough to grade.

The only reference book I have is dated from 1964 so any idea's on value would also be appreciated.

Looks proof to me, it's tough to tell through the 2x2 though. If it is proof the CV would be $50. If it is business strike it would only be worth $8. (KM# 2899 1/3 oz of silver).

Design looks frosted, must be proof? other than that I can't tell if marks are on the coin or the 2x2

Nice pictures and nice coin, I see some slight marks so I'm going to say MS-69.

Great looking coin! love the coats of arms on the reverse.
Would definitely be worth popping it out of the 2x2 for another couple photos; it sure looks proof but it'd be nice to see if the fields are clear of marks.

It sure looks like a proof to me. The long "scratches" are probably on the 2X2 plastic. That whitish haze in the left obverse field might hurt the numeric grade; at least, similar "milk spots" on Franklin half dollar proofs do reduce the grade.

I'd call it PR-67 cameo. I presume it's a commemorative silver coin?

I know next to nothing about this coin. I did a search on Ferdinand (1790-1836} and see that he was an actor, writer and director. I hate to admit that the one fact about him that I will never forget is that he took his own life while on his way to see a doctor. He had been bitten by a dog and was afraid that it was rabid. Who knows what a persons fears will drive him to.
