Would definitely be worth popping it out of the 2x2 for another couple photos; it sure looks proof but it'd be nice to see if the fields are clear of marks. Report this Post to the Staff
Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6398 Posts	Posted 12/18/2008 1:11 pm It sure looks like a proof to me. The long "scratches" are probably on the 2X2 plastic. That whitish haze in the left obverse field might hurt the numeric grade; at least, similar "milk spots" on Franklin half dollar proofs do reduce the grade. I'd call it PR-67 cameo. I presume it's a commemorative silver coin? Who is/was Ferdinand Raimund? Report this Post to the Staff

I did a search on Ferdinand (1790-1836} and see that he was an actor, writer and director. I hate to admit that the one fact about him that I will never forget is that he took his own life while on his way to see a doctor. He had been bitten by a dog and was afraid that it was rabid.
