If it's the earlier die state, why wouldn't the clashing be visible on the 1AB, the supposed later die stage of this coin? Report this Post to the Staff
dave700x Rest in Peace United States 10625 Posts	Posted 02/20/2021 11:53 am I'm really not seeing the usual signs of a clash event on this coin. Typically there is a good transfer of the neck line off the eagles' right shoulder so if it is clashed the light remnants could have worn off the dies from normal use. Report this Post to the Staff

There is also a tiny one tucked under the Liberty's chin line where the neck meets. A less prominent one going above the eagle's tail feathers hard to see from this picture. I guess the dies get hammered so much after the initial clash that they won't be visible during the formation of 1AB's "extra hair"? Report this Post to the Staff
