I would say some serious die gouges going on there they are raised and pointed nice ones I have a couple of Alaskin quarters with die chips on the claws but nothing like this one Jazzcoins Joe
It is believe to be caused by the ejection arm scraping across the die. These lines are most commonly seen on the cent, where they normally run from the northwest to the southeast. However, I think that I have seen pictures of or have run across this type die anomaly on all denominations.
I imagine that they could be worth something. Look at the speared Bison or the wounded Eagle; these coins have similar gouges although better placed and command exceptionally high and also unworthy premiums.
