2016 P Roosevelt Dime -Incused Area On Reverse?

Rosalita Valued Member United States 96 Posts	Posted 04/30/2021 12:25 pm Hi guys, I have this 2016 P Roosevelt dime and notice on the reverse that there is an incused area running thru the "D" in Dime upwards and also a small incused area near the "E" in Dime (see photo). There is a ridge. Can someone please explain what this could be? Report this Post to the Staff

stoneman227 Pillar of the Community United States 2376 Posts	Posted 04/30/2021 4:05 pm In the 4th pic down there is a struck through spot beside the base of the torch. This spot showes a highlight on the side away from your light sourse and a shadow on the side nearest your light source. This is what I would expect to see if the anomaly in question was incuse. What this area does show is two equally dark lines near and away from your light source. My thought is the anomaly is a stain where the drying of some liquid left a dark residue on it's outside edges. Report this Post to the Staff
coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/30/2021 4:20 pm Looks like a stain on the coin. It is not raised, it is surface on the coins reverse. Just a "return to spender" coin. (A sad play, on an Elvis song) Report this Post to the Staff
