This 1995 cent seems to have alot going on with it. Between 2 and 6 o'clock it has what appears an overflow of the rim. The rim also has multiple crack/splits throughout. This coin has what I believe are flow/roller scratches. That or it is a very late state die. There is definitely what appears to be doubling in the lower ear. It almost appears there are two ears from certain angles. I'm not sure if the appearance of doubling on the obverse is from the die/metal movement during a misaligned striking, an off center broad strike or if it is doubled plus the other possibilities mentioned. To me it is a cool looking cent that caught my eye when examining it. As always any information, confirmation on this coin would be appreciated. Thanks
Thanks Coop. I'm aware of rolling/flow lines on sheets of metal. Being a licensed sheet metal mechanic I know metal likes to move with the rolling lines when struck upon. Would this be accurate with regards to coin striking as well? Regarding movement of the metal when the die is striking down on a planchet with heavy rolling/flow lines? If so is that why there appears to be letters and numbers throughout the obverse of this coin?
