I recently purchased an 1835 William IV half sovereign from a very reputable dealer. I've just received it (see attached) - not sure how I feel about it and would welcome any thoughts as to grading.

I don't have any grading guides for William, but these would be my estimates:

Obverse: G
Reverse: AG

I feel like I would put the whole coin at an AG. I'm thinking one rung below Oriole on both sides, AG obv and FR rev

Many thanks, both. That would probably equate to a British grade of Fair - I'm veering between that and a Poor (probably not much more than bullion value)

Thanks Oldfordman and Hogarth.

So that's Fair v Poor in UK grading terms - exactly the fence that I am sitting on...

It was sold as "Fair" and it doesn't look like a UK Fair grade to me. Hey ho - at least it's got an intrinsic value!
