These European coins look pretty good for how far back we are. Ok I think I can add some more Golden Horde coins now. I only have these for the 1340s, although hopefully @Grinya has more. This is Jani Beg, but with some sort of Russian countermark. I think it's Sagdeeva 228 or 231, which are very similar, but both are AD747. Jani Beg Dang, AH747/AD1346
Saray al-Jadida; South Russian Countermark. Silver, 1.5g. Mint Saray / al-Jadida / 747 (above, left and below). Just Sultan / Janibeg Khan (Sagdeeva 228).This, on the other hand, might be Sagdeeva 231 rather than 228, but again is AD747. The obverse and reverse are the other way around to the coin above in the photos. Jani Beg Dang, AH747/AD1346

Hungary, gold florin of Louis I dateable to 1342-1353. Huszar 512. The first medieval gold in my collection, purchased 1999.   Edited by tdziemia

This gros of the Duchy of Lorraine has a date range 1348-1390 (even if I can find some smaller denomination types with similar design details that are given narrower date ranges  ). 26 mm and 2.6 g., Boudeau 1469.   Edited by tdziemia

Fot the year 748 AH I have these coins of Jani Beg Khan (Saray al-Jadida mint) Sagdeeva 237:   Sagdeeva 238:   They are quite similar, the difference is in the place of the 8 |

It's probably time for the new decade listing... 1349 - JohnConduitt, Grinya (750 AH = Mar 1349-Mar 1350) 1348 - Grinya (749 AH = Apr 1348-Mar 1349) 1347 - Grinya (748 AH = Apr 1347-Apr 1438) 1346-45 - none yet (would be 747 and 746 AH) 1344 - tdziemia 1343 - tdziemia 1342-41 - none yet (would be 743 and 742 AH, and maybe also 741 AH) 1340 - Spence It turns out that 741 AH is nearly evenly split between 1341 and 1340, and/or 740 AH is nearly evenly split between 1340 and 1339. For now we can assume that 742 AH (Jun 1431-Jun 1432) corresponds to 1341, and 739 AH (Jul 1338-Jul 1339) corresponds to 1339; conveniently enough we've got a coin from 1340 anyway. This might get trickier later. As for my own 1340s coin, I couldn't find the coin to take better pics, so might as well post the pics I have. (They're not that bad.)   Hungary, Lajos I (1342-82) AR denar, 1346-49? Obverse: [+M REG]IS LODOVI[CI] around large crown (picture should be rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise) Reverse: kneeling angel facing left, L in left field Numista 74695 (the example depicted there is a lot less worn, but even less legible than mine) |

An amazing group of Golden Horde coins so far! This Indian Jital was issued by the Kingdom of Kangra on behalf of Apurva Chandra Deva. It can be dated to 1340 to 1351 AD. The provenance on this piece goes back to Thomas Pollandt. Any thoughts on an attribution?   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Here is my other coin from this decade that is datable to a single year. This Gros Tournois was issued by the German City State of Cologne and is datable to 1343 AD. The obv legend is +WALRAM ARCHIEPES COLONIE and the rev legend is XPC VICIT XPC REGNAT XPC INPAT. It was attributed as Noss 53. Another COVID pick-up for me! Indeed, another great display of Golden Horde this decade, and that's a super Cologne turnosegroschen. I have one more Lorraine coin with a broad date range, another gros dated to 1348-1390. Only one coin from the 745AH: Dang of Jani Beg Khan (Saray al-Jadida mint) Sagdeeva 219. The year is at the right (45) and at the left (70) of the reverse   |

Here is another Gros from France for me. It is datable to the timeframe of 1341 to 1342 AD. The obv legend is PHILIPPVS REX + BENEDICTV SIT NOMEN DNI PRI DEI, while the rev has about a thousand fleurs de lis plus FRANCORVM. The edges have been shaved down to the point where the coin is almost square. I have it attributed as Duplessy 263A and Roberts 2851.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."
