None of these will move the thread. They are all 1235-70 Hungarian Denars under King Bela IV. Huszar 69,Unger 101,CAC Vol. III/22.10.1.1/1. It has no sigla.  Huszar 299,Unger 222,CAC Vol. III/22.31.1.2/a3.2/11. It has a sigla of one point in central circle at 3:00,6:00,and 9:00.  Huszar 320,Unger 218,Rethy I-253.   Huszar 294,Unger 213,Rethy I-229,CAC Vol. III/22.24.1.1/e1.1/2.1/a3.1/18. It has a type 2.1 obverse and a type 1.8 reverse. That is why the CAC reference is so long.  Edited by EddieDiz

Nice ones so far! Here is a Pfennig of the German City State of Regensberg that dates to between 1230 and 1240 AD. It was issued by Otto II, "The Illustrious" and is attributed as Bonhoff 1991.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

These Austrian Pfennigs were minted in the date range 1230 to 1246 AD under the authority of King Friedrich II. The first was minted at Enns and is attributed as Szego 49a and CNA B153c.   The second was minted at Vienna and is attributed as Szego 48a and CNA B155a. It has a rev inscription of F IMPERATOR.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

I must say that the crudeness of some of these issues is remarkable! Very true, although that first Austrian Pfennig I posted has been "improved" by tooling at one point.  I've also got a pair of Denars attributable to the same monarch. These were issued by Bela IV of Hungary and date to between 1235 and 1270 AD. Interestingly, they are both uniface, although one isn't supposed to be. The first Denar is a Bracteate and I have attributed it as Frynas H.18.51 and Huszar 192.   The second Denar is a brockage, where only the rev design shows. Upthread you can see both sides as @ed has a brother to this coin. I have also attributed it as Huszar 320. Here is a Denier of the French Duchy of Bretagne that dates to between 1237 and 1286 AD. It was minted at Vannes under the authority of Jean I LeRoux. The obv inscription is IO hE S D VX while the rev inscription is B RI TA NI E. I have attributed it as Duplessy 76 and Roberts 4609.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

The very first type coins attributed to Golden Horde - Dinar "In the name of Nasir al-Din", Bulghar mint. Also, maybe, they could be minted in independent city of Bulghar. Glad to see one final Golden Horde @grin! It has been so nice to have all of these posted for this version of the thread. Here is my last coin for this decade, a Denar from the German Archbishopric of Cologne. It dates to between 1239 and 1244 AD and was issued under the authority of Konrad von Hochstader. The obv inscription is CONRADVS MINISTER and the rev inscription is SANCTA COLONIA. I have attributed it as Bohnhoff 1592.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."
