Similar to spence's coin posted last decade ... Here is a denar struck at an undefined mint in the Mosane region of Lower Lotharingia (modern eastern Low Countries), in the name of Henry I, King of East Francia (Germany) and imitating a denar of Cologne. It is dated at 925 - 936. Ref. Dann. 345, Numista #347966. Obverse: Cross with pellets in each corner. +HEVVRIC REX Revers: S / COLONII / A

Sorry for losing track of this thread. Here is my Dirham of the Samanid Dynasty that is dated AH313 (925-926 AD). I have attributed it as Album 1451.

Here is a Dirham from the Abbasid Dynasty that was minted at Misr. It dates to 910/911 AD and I have attributed it as Album 246.2. It is a recent pickup of mine, but didn't quite make my top 10 list for 2022 purchases.

Very nice addition Dave! It's an area I've become interested in and will certainly add one to my collection next year. I do like the different/artistic styles of text.

Thx Paul. You may know that SARC has a gimungous auction ending next month. If you want to jump in with two feet, there are some group lots at the end which would really jump start things for you.
Merry Christmas Eve day all! Let's drop back to the decade of the 900s starting tomorrow morning.

@paul, you may be a little light in terms of Islamic Dirhams in this date range, but I gotta say, your collection of Indian copper is pretty impressive! Here is my first coin to post from this decade, a Samanid Dirham minted in al-Shash (current day Tashkent Uzbekistan) under the direction of Isma'il I ben Ahmad. The date is AH288, which corresponds to 900 AD. I have attributed it as Album 1443.

Right back at you! For today, I have a similar Dirham in terms of mint and issuing ruler, but is dated AH290 (roughly 902 AD).

Here is my last coin for this decade--another Samanid Dirham, but this one was minted in Samarqand Uzbekistan. The date is AH296, which corresponds to 908 AD. I have attributed it as Album 1446. The pair of holes most likely means that this was used for jewelry at one point.

Going to take a short break from the Islamic world to post this French (Carolingian Dynasty) Denier that dates to between 888 and 897 AD. The obv legend is LIMOVICAS CIVIS while the reverse legend is GRATIA D IRE and ODO. I have attributed it as Roberts 1696.
