Looks like a die chip to me. Technically I guess it is an error, but an extremely common one. No added premium with this one.

A die chip isn't really an error, I think it is a die event if I am not mistaken.

I agree with John1, not really an error as this is on the die and every coin struck would have this chip showing.

Die chips are die events. It wasn't created that way, it eventually happened as the die ages. It happens to most dies as they area. Common to find.

Die chips are thought special to new ones. But to the seasoned variety collectors, they are die events that are often used as die markers. To me a die event is not really a collectable as I'm a variety collector. (The exception to me is Cuds. They are the end of life for a die)
