Hello. I'm trying to compare the example photo against my coin but I really don't know if mine is doubling or not. What exactly are the arrows pointing at? In other examples it seems like the doubling is level with the letters or numbers and machine doubled looks like the doubling would appear lower than the original date or letters? I know you get this question all the time but I'm struggling with understanding the differences.

Your coin is not a doubled die. There are 9 classes of doubled dies you will need to learn http://goccf.com/t/312696 as well as other forms of doubling https://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles...Doubling.htm

I've never been interested in these minor varieties that can only be attributed using a high-powered microscope. Some collectors obviously seek them out which is perfectly fine for them. "Very strong doubling" is I think a very optimistic description of the OP's coin.

This thread should maybe get moved to the modern error/variety category.

Please give us whole photos. not just pieces. We usually ask for two full photos, (one of each side) and one or two closeups of areas of interest.
