I recently went to my LCS and dug through the whole bin of junk silver that they had, and picked out the better stuff. Here is list of what I got (in the order as the first picture, the first picture for right to left; top to bottom) I got a 1945 Merc, a 1948 Roosie with very nice toning, a 1947-D Roosie, a 1916 Merc, 1917-S Merc, 1917 Merc, a nice 1958-D Benji, a 1915-D Barber Half, a 1964 Canadian Silver dime that I found (and the worker said I could have it for $1), a 1908-D Barber quarter, 1913 Barber quarter, 1912 Barber quarter, 1911-D Barber quarter (worth over $20!), 1913-D Barber quarter, my first ever 1917 type 1 Standing Liberty quarter with some unfortunate scratches on the reverse (but at least the obverse is pretty nice), a 1964-D Quarter that is probably WDDO-011, a slightly toned 1964-D Washington quarter, and a 1961 Washington quarter with a cool lamination on the obverse. Dowhat Pillar of the Community United States 882 Posts	Posted 10/09/2021 4:22 pm I purchase 90% Condtitutional silver on regular basis. The supply is dwindling. As much as I can, I avoid the slicks. Barbers & Walkers are nice to have a few with dates. Just so you have some. Until you put them on the scale. I pick up a a few for nostalgia, but usually look for less wear closing my junk. Today it sells for FV, tomorrow it may trade for weight. Compare a slick Standing LIBERTY to a nice Franklin. Grams may matter in the near future. This is only my opinion. Avoid slicks. Especially no visible date. Less wear, more weight. Take a slick Barber and weigh it against a sharp Franklin. Report this Post to the Staff
