Good evening community. Can you please tell me what causes the date to look like this. The 9 an 5 are super fat on arc of 9 stem on 5. Going to look for anything else weird. If anyone can tell me of other things on this coin to look for id appreciate it very much. Thanks

This is a small die chip in the loop of the 9 - not uncommon on cents of this era.

I agree with coingfrog. Still cool to find dies that are starting to break. Mint overworked them hard in the 50's.

Another thought is the numbers took a sliding hit from being circulated.

I agree there are several die chips on top left of the 1
As well as the left of the 5. Under the chip the corner is. Still there along with top right of the 7. In the middle of the 1 zoomed in I see a faint skinny black line in middle. The 9 has 2 of those same lines inside the point on bottom. The 5 is difficult to notice cuz of lighting. Ill do my best to adjust for clearer pictures. Yet on the 7 at the point top left you can see same black line in middle. Are these cracks. I have zoomed in on pictures post and seen. And on the 9 the loop is fatter as if extra metal was left behind. Thank you for all your knowledge
