The doubling to the left of the letters A and M looks like Machine Doubling to me too.

Machine doubling. I have a few of these, they're not uncommon. It's a fun find.

Variety Vista is a great place to look up true doubled dies to compare your coins to.

I agree its MD. Probably not extreme enough to collect beyond silver value. Some of the really extreme examples are quite fun to own.

When your post title came up, you mentioned a plain. But if the images are all 'Denver' you won't need to check for the type 'B' reverse that were on the 1956-1964 quarters. (Proof dies re-used on the business strikes:
