Bought a roll of circulated 1939 nickels for $7 hoping to find one of these. I got lucky and managed to pull one, which was honestly quite a surprise to me.

Excellent find! I always found it funny that it was labeled the "doubled Monticello" when FIVE CENTS is doubled just as nicely.

That's a super nice DDR, and on a very nice coin. When I get in the big lots of circ nickels I would say I find one of these maybe once out of every 200 1939-P coins. Surprisingly common given how well-known it is and obvious it is. It is always enjoyable to search the 1939's as seems like still a lot of great doubled dies in the wild.

If a doubled die makes me dizzy when viewing it's a good one. This one fits. Nice pick!!!
